International Markets enhancements

We’ve introduced further enhancements to the AUSIEX International Markets offering, designed to support a more efficient experience for advisers and their clients.

  • Streamlined international account opening for individual and joint accounts - Advisers can now open an International Markets account for individual or joint accounts directly through the AUSIEX website for existing AUSIEX Share Trading accounts. Existing client details will be pre-populated, reducing the need for duplicate data entry and eliminating additional application forms. This functionality will be extended to company and trust accounts soon. Simply visit Clients > Applications > Apply Now > Existing client, new product.

    If an application is submitted and client actions have not been completed, a reminder email will be sent after 30 days to prompt your client to complete the form.

  • Account activation following W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E validation - Clients are required to complete a valid W-8BEN/E form before their International Markets account can be activated. Applications will remain in a pending state until the W-8 form has been completed and validated. Once validated, a welcome email will be sent to the client advising them that their account has been activated.

  • W-8BEN/E expiry reminders - AUSIEX is required to collect a new W-8BEN/E form every three calendar years. To help keep client records up to date and simplify administration, we’ve introduced a new expiry management process which sends reminder emails to clients when forms are due to expire or have expired.

    Advisers can also send reminder emails to clients from the AUSIEX website if additional follow-up is needed. Accounts without a valid W-8BEN/E form on file may be restricted to trade until a valid form is submitted and validated.
